1969 is engraved in the memories of watch enthusiasts as the birth date of the El Primero legend. However, the same year witnessed the introduction of another very important product line for the brand: Defy.

The concept, which is well known especially by watch lovers who are fond of vintage models, returns to the world of watches as a part of the Revival Series, which has been updated with modern touches and is limited to 250 pieces only.

The model, introduced in 1969, draws attention with its octagonal case and 14-sided unique bezel, which formed an unusual design not only for its time of debut but even for today. The cult model, which is remembered with the definition of "bank vault" used in Zenith's advertisements in those years, is meeting with watch enthusiasts again today.

The new version comes with a 37mm diameter case, just like the original model released in 1969. The total height of the case, which is made of stainless steel, is 13.60mm. The octagonal case, which includes both glossy and matte surfaces, hosts the characteristic 14-sided bezel. The original case, which has sapphire crystals on the front and back, is waterproof up to 300 meters with the help of the screw-down crown.

The model sports a brown dial with a gradient background pattern that refers to the 70s. There are round dots made of Super-LumiNOVA phosphor material on the lower parts of the ridged applique indexes. The retro-themed dial, which displays the time through paddle-shaped hands, has a date window at 4:30.

The modern version takes its power from the in-house designed and produced Elite Caliber 670 movement. Working at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph), the automatic movement offers 50 hours of power reserve when fully wound.

Another period-correct detail of the new model is its stainless steel bracelet. Inspired by the bracelet designed and produced for Zenith by the legendary metal bracelet manufacturer Gay Freres, the ladder-type bracelet is fixed to the wrist with a Zenith signed folding clasp.
