A. Lange & Söhne has announced its new model designed exclusively for the 2021 winner of Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, one of the most prestigious events in the world of motorsports. The model, which draws attention with its salmon-colored dial, is a unique piece.
Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, one of the most important events of the automobile world, takes place on the Villa d'Este land on the shores of Lake Como. The winner of the event, in which approximately 50 cars in different classes participate, is determined by the result of public voting.
Acting on the passion of its CEO Wilhelm Schmid for classic cars, A. Lange & Söhne has maintained its brand partnership with Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este since 2012. Until 2019, the winner of the event was given the Lange 1 Time Zone “Como Edition” model. This special watch, which was produced exclusively for the event and was not offered for sale, differed from the standard models with the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este engraving on the hinged case back reminiscent of a pocket watch, as well as some changes on the dial. The event, which did not take place in 2020, is preparing to say hello to 2021 with a brand new A. Lange & Söhne.
The event's prize this year is a chronograph model, perhaps the most related complication to motorsports. The new model, designed on the 1815 Chronograph platform of ALS, draws attention with its salmon-colored dial at first glance. The general details of the stylish model are as follows;
The model comes in an 18K white gold case with a diameter of 39.6mm and a height of 11.9mm. The case, in which matte and glossy surfaces are used together, has sapphire crystal glasses on both sides. The hinged back cover detail, which was present in the previous models prepared specifically for the event, continues in this model as well.
The dial the most striking part of the model, is made of 18K rose gold. The dial, which attracts attention with its salmon-colored background, features brown chronograph counters.
The new model is powered by the in-house designed and produced Caliber L951.5 movement. The hand-wound movement with flyback chronograph offers a power reserve time of up to 60 hours. The 34 jewels/306 component movement dazzles with its decoration in accordance with ALS standards.
This unique piece comes on a dark brown alligator strap and 18K white gold buckle.
