The Audemars Piguet single-handed model Millenary Frosted Gold Philosophique promises a break to the rushing minutes.
Swiss watch brand Audemars Piguet first introduced the Millenary collection in 1995 to watch enthusiasts. Inspired by architecture and art, the models were designed to combine technical skills with innovative design to give a new perspective to time. Even though Millenary was originally intended for men, the female models introduced in 1998 took over the entire collection. Designed for women only since 2015, the collection is produced using different materials with finishing techniques such as chamfering, satin brush and ‘frosted gold’, and presented to tasteful women.
The Audemars Piguet Millenary Frosted Gold Philosophique is inspired by the 17th-century watches. The watch comes in an 18K white or rose gold case with a diameter of 39.5mm. An interesting design has been achieved by using satin finish and frosted gold. Let us add that Audemars Piguet owes this technique to Florentine jewelry designer Carolina Bucci. The talented designer’s diamond-dusted appearance is achieved by beating metal for hours with small hammers. The watch’s sapphire crystal case back lets you see the rotor carrying plaques that match the dial color. The white gold case has a blue sapphire on the winding crown while the other is equipped with a transparent one. Carefully prepared, the casing is resistant to water pressure up to 20 meters.
The new models come with a blue dial in white gold (Ref. 77266BC.GG.A326CR.01) and a brown dial in pink gold cases (Ref. 77266OR.GG.A823CR.01). The dial, which is forged to create a dimple effect, is accompanied by a sandblasted gold.
The self-winding watches that are newly added to the collection, which was a hand-wound collection only, are powered by the automatic Caliber 3140. This movement is equipped with a patented mechanism that allows the hour hand on an elliptical orbit on the dial. The hour wheel is aligned directly with the transparent disc on the dial where the hour hand is located. Thus, the hand can rotate in a clear orbit despite the elliptical form of the case.
Audemars Piguet Millenary Frosted Gold Philosophique models are complemented by a brown or blue crocodile strap depending on the dial color.
