Breguet, one of the Swatch Group’s heavy hitters in traditional watchmaking, introduced the skeletonized version of its Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat model.
The most elegant Tourbillon in the current collection of the brand with a total height of only 7.45mm, the Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat continues to decorate the catalogs since 2017. The model, which is known with the hand-made fire enamel dial, has a brand new version with designed in line with the skeleton theme.
The new model’s case is equipped with the Breguet signature screw lug bars Available in 18K pink gold and platinum, the case measures 41mm in diameter and only 7.7mm in height.
Due to the skeleton theme of the model, it is not possible to talk about a regular dial here. However, the front face of the movement is generously decorated with Guilloche patterns. The sections of the main plate are decorated with Guilloche motifs in the style of Clous de Paris or Hobnail. Indices prepared in the form of Roman numerals are placed on a transparent sapphire disc. Hobnail patterned hour markers, also prepared in blue tones, help to read the time. All of these components are protected by a box type and domed sapphire crystal, which we are not used to seeing in Breguet designs.
The new model is powered by the manufacture self-winding Tourbillon Caliber 581SQ. Thanks to its compact peripheral oscillating rotor, the movement offers an incredible thickness of just 3mm. Despite its 4Hz (28,800vph) beat rate which is high for a Tourbillon caliber, the movement offers up to 80 hours of power reserve thanks to its high-tech design and materials.
Both models come with alligator straps accompanied by folding clasps made of the same material with the case. The list prices for the models are as follows;
