Breitling for Bentley, a successful automobile brand partnership of the watch industry, was the guest of our Hands On corner with the B06 Midnight Carbon model, which was acclaimed for its bold dimensions, darkened stainless steel case and advanced technology movement.
Breitling, which is among the exclusive brands especially with its aviation-based models, took its place on our pages once again with a new member from the Breitling for Bentley Collection.
Breitling for Bentley B06 Midnight Carbon is offered in a stainless steel case darkened with a carbon based treatment. The case sports typical Breitling for Bentley Collection design details and a pretty bold diameter of 49mm. Sporting a double AR coated scratch resistant sapphire crystal on the front side and a perforated see-through sapphire display caseback inspired by the wheels of Bentley automobiles, the case is water resistant to 100 meters. The winding crown and chronograph pushers are also finished in carbon black. The carbon black bezel is also inspired by the front grille design of the Bentleys.
One of the outstanding features of the model is its dial. Besides the classic Breitling style busy lay out, the dial gets most of the attention with its blue/purple colored mother of pearl material. Accompanied with darkened hands and indices, the dial features a 3-6-9 Tri-Compax chronograph function and a date display located at 4 o’clock. Of course, the unusual features of the dial are not limited to cosmetic details only. The dial sports a pair of bezels that works in circular slide rule style which allows the user to perform the “variable tachymeter” calculations. The chronograph lay out that looks pretty standard at first is actually designed to read not that standard type of information. The sub counters display 15 minute and 6 hour intervals together with the small seconds. The centered chronograph second hand completes a full turn in 30 seconds. Inspired by a pattern dated 1926, This feature insures extremely accurate 1/8th of a second time readings.
Breitling for Bentley B06 Midnight Carbon is powered by the brand’s in-house Caliber Ref. B06. 47 jewels self-winding movement bears the C.O.S.C. certification. The movement beats at 4Hz and offers a power reserve of 70 hours among a date display and a column wheel chronograph capable of measuring in 1/8th of a second accuracy.

The model is also available with Breitling signed black rubber strap. Both straps are secured by a folding clasp made of black carbon treated stainless steel.
