Chopard has added a new model to its product line, Mille Miglia, which it has dedicated to the famous Italian racing organization, of which it is both a brand partner and a timekeeper. The new limited-edition model bears the signature of Bamford, known for the modifications it applies to watches.
The model preferred for Bamford's masterful touches is based on the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control platform, which the brand added to its product line in 2015. The collection, which is the favorite of not only watch lovers but also classic automobile and motorsports enthusiasts with its design inspired by the dashboard of racing cars, is expanding with a new version.
The new model comes with a 43mm diameter and 11.43mm high case. The case, which is made of ultra-light titanium alloy with a micro-sandblasted surface, sports an orange font on a black background insert bezel and a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the front. The case, which can withstand water pressure up to 100 meters, houses a screw-in crown and a tinted sapphire crystal case back.
The sporty model comes with an asphalt-textured black dial inspired by race tracks. The dial, sporting orange-colored 12 and 6 markers, and gray hands, hosts a date window at 3 o'clock and a power reserve indicator, inspired by the fuel gauge of racing cars, at 9 o'clock.
The new model takes its power from the Chopard 01.08-C movement. The in-house designed and manufactured COSC-certified automatic movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve time of up to 60 hours when fully wound.
The stylish model comes with a black rubber strap with a woven pattern and a steel folding clasp with a micro-sandblasted surface. The model, which is limited to 50 pieces and is only available through the Bamford Watch Department, retails at EUR 11,200.
