Frederique Constant brings the spirit of the famous British classic car brand Austin-Healey to the wrists with two new models.
The Vintage Rally collection in the Frederique Constant product group consists of sporty-retro style models inspired by the world of classic cars, namely Austin-Healey. Frederique Constant has been a brand partnership with Austin-Healey, a British sports car produced between 1959 and 1967, since 2004. The brand, which designed two different models in this context for 2020, one with a green dial, the other with a rose gold-plated case and cappuccino color scheme, is now under the spotlight with the British Racing Green dial steel version.
The model comes in a 40mm diameter stainless steel case. The case, which consists of two parts and designed with all-polished surfaces, has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal on the front, and a solid stainless steel case back with Healey illustration and production No. at the back. The case, which is resistant to water pressure up to 50 meters, is accompanied by a Frederique Constant signed winding crown.
The dial of the model is home to a British Racing Green background, designed to suit the overall theme. There is a white minute scale on the outside of the dial, where leaf-style hands and both large numerals and baton indices are used together. The dial, which has the classic Healey logo at 6 o'clock and the date display at 3 o'clock, offers sufficient legibility in dark environments thanks to the Super-LumiNOVA phosphor application.
Frederique Constant Vintage Rally Healey Automatic is powered by the Caliber FC-303 movement. Sellita SW 200-1 based automatic movement, which is the common choice of many entry and mid-level Swiss brands with its reliable, accurate, and easy to service features, operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers 38 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
The model comes on a brown leather strap designed in perforated racing style, one of the indispensable complements of classic car-themed watches, that is secured by a Frederique Constant signed stainless-steel pin buckle. There is also a rose gold-plated version (EUR 1750.00) offered in the same production quantity as the steel version.
