Glashütte Original is located in the center of Glashütte, near the Ore Mountains of Saxony, as every watch enthusiast knows German watches and watchmaking. The town lived on by mining for hundreds of years and formed accordingly. Large forests, rich green meadows, steep rocky ledges, moss-covered stones, and countless tin and silver mines surround Glashütte Original’s workshop. Therefore, green and gray are two sharp colors that are in the lives of everyone living in the town.

The new limited versions of the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date are also inspired by this impressive natural landscape. The dial workshop, part of the brand and located in Pforzheim, did an excellent job with the new gray and green dials. While creating new dials, the workshop continued to use the gradual effect, which was widely used towards the end of the sixties, darkening from the center to the edges.

The first step in creating gradually colored dials is the use of rotating brass brushes. After the dials are galvanized, green/gray lacquer is applied in various passes. Subsequently, the black varnish is applied carefully from various angles using a hand spray gun. This last step ensures that each watch has its unique color flow. Then, the polished dials are put into the oven.
