The watches that will compete fiercely in the 2022 version of GPHG, the most prestigious award organization in the world of watches, have been announced.
We will watch the competition of 254 different watches in 15 different categories at the Grand Prix D'Horlogerie de Geneve (GPHG), which was established in 2001 and has been open to the public since 2011, and is considered the Oscar of the watch world.
Details of the jury that will select the GPHG 2022 awards will be announced in October 2022.
The watches that will participate in the competition must be introduced between May 2021 and October 2022. In other words, there may be additions to the 254 watches mentioned at the last minute. Although the number of categories in the competition is limited to 15, the number of awards distributed is 20, that is, institutions or organizations that are not included in the list of candidates or a limited number of other watches can also be awarded.
The categories in which the watches will compete in GPHG are as follows: Women's watches, women's watches with complications, men's watches, men's watches with complications, iconic, tourbillon, calendar and astronomy, extraordinary mechanics, chronograph, diver's watch, stone watches, artistic, petite aiguille (watches with a list price between 3500 and 10000CHF), challenge (watches with list price less than 3500CHF), and mechanical desk/wall clocks.
In addition to the awards distributed from all categories, there are also Aiguille d'Or, Innovation, Audacity, Horological Revelation, Chronometry, and Special Jury awards are given to the best of all watches.
