After the Hi-Beat “White Birch” SLGH005 model, which left its mark on the past year, Grand Seiko showed up with a different version focusing on the same theme: Grand Seiko Hi-Beat Green Birch SLGH011.
Grand Seiko, the leading Far Eastern manufacturer in the world of traditional luxury watchmaking, has added a new version to its models that focus on thematic elements of classical Japanese culture and nature. Sharing the same platform with the Hi-Beat “White Birch” SLGH005, one of the most admired novelties of the past year, the new Grand Seiko Hi-Beat Green Birch SLGH011 draws attention with its dark green dial tone.
The new model comes with a case designed with a diameter of 40mm and a height of 11.7mm. The case, which offers a comfortable presence on the wrist with its 47mm lug-to-lug distance, is made of stainless steel. The elegant case features both matte and glossy surfaces together where the polished parts are Zaratsu-finished, which we are familiar with from other Grand Seiko models. Sporting sapphire crystals on both sides, the sporty case is waterproof up to 100 meters.
The dial, which is the distinguishing feature of the model, is inspired by the birch forests surrounding the Shizukuishi studio, as in previous models. However, this time it comes in a green tone that uses the lively texture of the summer months, not the cold and snowy face of winter. Faceted and beveled hands accompany the dial where the date display rests at 3 o'clock.
The new model sports the new-generation automatic Grand Seiko Caliber 9SA5. The 47 jewels movement beats at a high frequency of 5Hz (36,000vph) and offers a power reserve time of up to 80 hours when fully wound. The caliber, which also hosts high-tech features such as Dual Impulse Escapement and free-sprung balance, can be viewed through the sapphire crystal case back.
The stylish model comes with a three-piece metal bracelet and a folding clasp with the Grand Seiko emblem, which complements other models of the collection.
Pre-orders have started for the model, which will be available for purchase on Grand Seiko Boutique Online from September 1, 2022.
