Located in Switzerland’s Engadine valley, Saint-Moritz is home to a magnificent nature and a place to visit as one of the most popular holiday venues in Europe for many years. Situated in one of the highest spots of the Eastern Alps, El Paradiso is a stylish place with its cafe and restaurant, giving its guests pleasant moments. Hublot, one of the sponsors of this spot, announced a pair of limited edition timepieces dedicated to El Paradiso as a ladies and a men’s model. Here we are with the men’s version Hublot Big Bang Unico El Paradiso today.

There is no need to talk about the success of Hublot regarding special/limited edition models. This strategy, which was highly criticized at first, proved its success over the years. I do not know how many different special/limited edition models Hublot produces in a year, but many of them are based on the standard collection models with certain revisions.

The model we have here is completely opposite with the approach I mentioned above. When I saw the model in person, I was impressed with its exclusive details. There are details that were cleverly designed for the concept it was dedicated to.

Hublot Big Bang Unico El Paradiso comes in a 45mm diameter classic Big Bang style case made of ceramic. The bezel features an engraving of “Where Devil Meets” which is one of El Paradiso’s slogans. The other slogan of the place “Close To Heaven” is located at the left side of the case. The case is equipped with double AR coated sapphire crystals on both sides.

The dial of the model is designed in skeleton style with Bi-Compax chronograph lay out. There is a date display at 3 o’clock. The black dominated color palette gets some heat with red accents on the dial related to El Paradiso.

The model is powered by the Hublot Caliber HUB1242. Self-winding movement features a Flyback chronograph module and offers 72 hours of power reserve when fully wound.  The oscillating rotor of the movement is adorned with an illustration of mountains of St.Moritz that can be enjoyed through the sapphire crystal caseback.

Hublot Big Bang Unico El Paradiso is offered on a denim strap with vulcanized rubber lining. The strap is secured with a Hublot signed folding clasp made of ceramic. The black denim rubber strap matches with the concept nicely but it lacks some wrist comfort. Being never used is a strong factor for my observation for sure. However, it is not as comfortable as a Santoni strap.

For me, Big Bang Unico El Paradiso was one of the most influential Hublot models. The model comes with a limited to a span of 20 units only and it was surely an enjoying experience to see that model in Turkey. If you want to see this timepiece in person, I suggest you to hurry up as I believe it will not stay there for a long time. We would like to thank Hublot Istanbul Boutique for their great hospitality.
