IWC introduced the new IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition "AMG" model, designed in collaboration with its long-term brand partner Mercedes-AMG.
With 17 years of brand partnerships based on performance engineering, IWC and Mercedes-AMG are hosting one of the longest-running partnerships in both industries. Supporting the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula team since 2013, the famous brand also took part in many podium victories with successful pilot Lewis Hamilton and his IWC Big Pilot. The two brands are, once again, introducing a new version based on the Pilot's Watch Chronograph model introduced by IWC to both watch and motorsports enthusiasts.
The new model comes in a modern case with a diameter of 43mm and a height of 14.9mm. In the construction of the stylish case, ultra-light titanium alloy, which is frequently used in Mercedes-AMG cars, is used. On the front of the case, there is an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and on the back, a titanium case with a blackened sapphire crystal hosting an AMG logo on the back. The crystals used in the case are produced to withstand not only scratches but also sudden pressure changes. Designed with a matte surface form inspired by the symbol color of AMG, Selenite Gray Magno, the case is waterproof up to 60 meters, with the help of the screw-down crown.
The dial is made of carbon material that is widely used by Mercedes-AMG. Sporting large numeral indices, thick hands, and metallic gray chronograph counters, the dial offers excellent legibility in almost any environment thanks to the Super-LumiNOVA phosphor material.
The new model is powered by the manufacture Caliber 69385. In addition to the time-keeping function, the self-winding movement includes Tri-Compax chronograph feature as well as day and date displays. Beating at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph), the movement offers up to 46 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition "AMG" comes with a black calf leather strap designed in line with the characteristic pattern of the carbon material used on the dial. The list price for the model is CHF 9,900.
