A new model specially prepared for the Chinese Lunar New Year has also arrived from IWC. The collection chosen by the well-established brand for this special version was the Portugieser Chronograph model family.
Let's take a closer look at the details of the new model, which includes many components of the calendar that mark the Year of the Dragon this year, without being limited to the dial.
The new model comes with the current Portugieser Chronograph style case, designed with a diameter of 41mm and a height of 13.1mm. The case, where matte and glossy surfaces are used together, is made of stainless steel. The case, elegantly served by sapphire crystals on the front and back, is accompanied by piston-style chronograph pushers and a winding crown with the IWC emblem. The model, which is in the classic chronograph class, is resistant to water pressure of only 30 meters.
The Star Calendar theme of the model is presented to the user largely through the details on the dial. There are chronograph counters at 12 and 6 o'clock on the dial, which have gold-plated indices and hands on a striking burgundy background. While the dial, which does not have a date window, is appreciated for its perfect symmetry, it also emphasizes the subject to which the model is attributed with its red/gold color theme, which is frequently used in Chinese culture.
The new model is powered by the Caliber 69355 movement. Equipped with a column wheel chronograph feature, the automatic movement operates at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800vph) and offers a power reserve time of up to 48 hours when fully wound.
The new model, which comes with a burgundy rubber strap as well as a black leather strap, is limited to only 1000 pieces.
