The XXI Commonwealth Games event, where Longines is both a partner and the official time keeper, is a multi-sport event where athletes from 70 Commonwealth nations and territories will gather.

The new model is offered in a fully matt finished stainless steel case measuring 43mm in diameter. The bezel and the winding crown are mirror polished. Equipped with an AR coated scratch resistant sapphire crystal on the front side and a solid stainless steel caseback (with Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games logo) on the rear side, the case is water resistant to 50 meters.

The dial of the new model sports blue and orange accents over a radial patterned black finish surface which provides a simple and sporty look. The hands are indices are darkened and filled with matching blue SuperLuminova phosphor material.  The 12 and 6 hour markers are designed in big Arabic numerals while the rest is arranged in classic baton style. The date display is located at 3 o’clock, while the V.H.P. (referring to the super-accurate movement inside) and water resistance rating information texts are placed above the 6 o’clock marker.

One of the most remarkable features of the model is its movement. The new model ticks with the Longines Caliber Ref. L288.2 movement (which is based on the ETA E56.111). 3 jewels movement offers a battery life of 94 months and an accuracy tolerance of only ± 5 seconds per year
