Longines released its latest re-issue model “Longines
Heritage 1969”
The newest arrival to the popular re-issue trend came from one of the most important players of the Swiss Watch Industry.
Actually, the charismatic president of Longines Mr. Walter von Känel has told me that he was working on a retro styled model therefore I am not surprised to see another re-issue model from the Swiss watchmaker. However, the model popped up quite different than I thought as I was expecting a pilot’s or divers watch.
Vintage Longines on which the Heritage 1969 was based.
The Longines Heritage 1969 draws its inspiration from a timepiece created in the late 1960s. The cushion-shaped case is made of stainless steel. The case fits the retro recipe nicely with its 36mm x 36mm dimensions. It has an AR-coated and square shaped sapphire crystal and it is water resistant to 30 meters.
The dial is finished in sunray formed silver color with rose gold plated indices and hand set. Like the squarish case, the dial is also designed perfectly to deliver the retro mood of the watch.
This retro timepiece is fitted with the Swiss automatic Longines Caliber L888.2 which is actually a highly modded ETA A31.L01. 21 jewels movement beats at 25.200vph and offers an impressive power reserve of 64 hours when fully wound. Besides the time showing function, there is also a date display window located at 4.30 o’clock position.
Longines Heritage 1969 is offered on a black alligator leather strap with a steel buckle.
We have witnessed pretty neat re-issue watches from Longines at the past. The brand has a solid expertise in creating modern timepieces with a balanced heritage spirit and Longines Heritage 1969 is not an exception.
