The new Luminor California 8 Days DLC (PAM779) is already a candidate for being one of Panerai’s most exclusive models with its strong, distinctive and masculine presence.
The new model is offered in an anthracite-color DLC coated titanium Luminor case measuring 44mm in diameter. The case does not only increase its durability against external factors, it also distinguishes the model from its competitors. There is no doubt that the PAM779 already attracts considerable interest in collectors, as the DLC coating option in Panerai’s product line is quite limited.
In PAM00779 Panerai’s early years included the "California" dial, where Roman and Arabic numeral indices were used together. The hour and the minute hand are aged by oxidizing at about 300 degrees centigrade.
The model that is water resistant to 300 meters is equipped with a sapphire crystal and powered by a manufacture movement. The movement beats at 21600vph and offers a power reserve of 8 days thank to its double barrel system.
One of the most interesting details offered by the new model is its strap. Made of brown aged leather that is decorated with contrasting beige stitches, the strap offers a bold wrist presence as well as comfort and durability. It is also possible to reinforce the military theme with an additional piece of leather that sits on the back of the wrist. If desired, the strap can be used without that extra piece. Like the rest of 44mm Luminor collection, the box set includes a black rubber strap.
