Combining characteristic design details and the extraordinarily high watchmaking standards of Switzerland, Officine Panerai continues to be one of the industry's leading names in 2020, just like every year. Two of the models introduced within the scope of Watches & Wonders 2020, PAM01117 & PAM01118, manage to attract attention with their striking features.

Both models feature a 44mm diameter Luminor 1950 case architecture. While PAM01117 model has a titanium case subjected to the micro blasting process, Panerai’s patented material, Carbotech, is used in PAM01118. The case of PAM01117 is produced with a special technology called Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS / Direct Metal Laser Melting). Thanks to the 3D printing technique based on the sintering of titanium powder with high power density optical fiber laser in layers at a time of 30 microns (0.03 mm) thick, the total weight of the watch were kept at 100 grams. Micro blasting is done by spraying the metal surface with high-pressure air and sand. Carbotech is a special polymer that combines lightness with high strength. The titanium case model PAM01117 measures 15.65mm in height, while PAM01118 measures 14.5mm. Both models’ cases are equipped with sapphire crystals and are water-resistant to 300 meters.

In the ring surrounding the dials of the watches, the Super-LumiNova shines in the dark around the patented crown guard device, hands, indices, inscriptions on the dial, and even stitches on the strap. Considered as a reference point for night visibility, Panerai models never hesitate to move the bar one step further.

When we flip the watches, the phrase “70 Years Warranty” on the case backs immediately attracts attention. Nope, you have not heard wrong. Panerai offers a full 70-year warranty on these models. Isn't it amazing? The models beat by the manufacture Caliber P.9010. 31 jewels/200 parts self-winding movement ticks at a frequency of 4Hz/28.800vph and offers a power reserve of 72 hours (3 days) when fully wound. Functions are hours, minutes, small seconds, and date.

The PAM01117 model, in which the navy blue tones are dominant, includes a blue strap made of patented Sportech material, while the PAM01118 comes on a black Sportech Velcro strap. The industry's most successful rubber straps have been added to the box contents of both models as well.
