Omega, has introduced a new collection of timepieces that are inspired by models produced in 1948 for its iconic product line, Seamaster Collection. The collection featuring a pair of new models that attracted attention with their 38mm diameter cases and limited production numbers which refers to the original versions’ issue date. 1948, has been one of the most notable new novelties of Baselworld.

The well-known brand has added two more new models to this elegant collection that has brought the popular Heritage trend into the first half of the century. This time, the models are offered in platinum and in a span of 70 pieces per model only, in line with the precious metal use (and price tags, of course).

There are two different models in the newly introduced series. It is possible to say that the most important visual point where the models attracting attention with the designs that illuminate the post-war period of the 1940s is the second-hand arm in the dials. The first of the models (Ref. 511.93.38.20.99.001) is equipped with a small second sub-dial located at the 6 o’clock position. The other model in the series (Ref. 511.93.38.20.99.002) carries a second hand positioned at the center.

In both of the new models, dials made of platinum were used in accordance with the case. The model with the small seconds dial has yellow gold hands and indexes, while the center second hand model is equipped with hands and indexes made of Omega’s patented 18K pink gold alloy Sedna Gold.

For both models, the case diameter is 38mm. The center second model has a total height of 11.20mm, while the small-second sub-dial one is 11.65mm thick. The front and back sides of the platinum cases are equipped with scratch-resistant sapphire crystals. The models are water resistant to 60 meters / 6 bars.

Both of the new models are powered by Omega’s manufacture movements, which can be enjoyed through the sapphire crystal case backs. While the center second hand version is equipped with the Cal.8807, small-second model is powered by the Cal.8805 movement. Both of the automatic calibers operate at a frequency of 3.5 Hz (25,200 vph) and feature METAS Master Chronometer certification.
