One of the most talked-about novelties of 2021, the Omega Aqua Terra Small Seconds model family is under the spotlight with its blue-themed version inspired by the seas.
The Aqua Terra model family, which stands out with the closeness to the luxury sports watch concept, once again appeared before watch lovers with a comprehensive update this year. The model family, which comes to the fore with its versatile design and water resistance-rating sufficient for standard activities, was admired for its wide product range consisting of material alternatives, color themes, and strap/bracelet options as well as two different case diameters. The stylish model family, which was also the subject of our video review section on HoroboxTV in the past months, is under the spotlight with the Ref: 220.12.41.21.03.005 model, which draws attention with its blue theme.
The new model comes in a stainless steel case measuring 41mm in diameter. The beautiful case offers 50-meter water resistance, sufficient for many environments and daily-life activities, sports sapphire crystals on both sides. The case, which displays a stance worthy of its sporty theme with its bold lug design that we remember from the Speedmaster model family, sports a screw-in winding crown with an Omega emblem.
The model we chose for our review is home to a blue dial inspired by the sea, the primary inspiration for the Aqua Terra family. The horizontally placed lines, one of the symbol details of the model family, are inspired by the teak woods used in the floor covering of the hull part of the boats. Super-LumiNOVA phosphor-applied thick hands and appliqué indices promise excellent legibility in almost any environment. The small seconds counter, the mutual and defining feature of the new Omega Aqua Terra 150M model family, is at 6 o'clock. The date window at the 6 o'clock marker preserves the integrity of the dial by its place and color. The white date disk and the second track of the same color add a bi-color image to the dial.
The new model family beats with the manufacture Caliber Omega 8916. Bringing a fresh perspective to industry standards, the automatic movement, whose perfection is certified with the METAS Master Chronometer, offers a power reserve time of up to 60 hours when fully wound. In addition to the Co-Axial escapement, the movement, which stands out with its silicon spring and freely oscillating balance features, also impresses by its magnetic resistance of 15000 Gauss.
The model we have here features a blue rubber strap with diamond-pattern texture and contrast white stitching. The nicely finished strap, which promises a comfortable use on the wrist with its integrated structure, is secured by a stainless steel folding clasp with an Omega emblem.
