For the third time, Oris supports the Movember Foundation with its vintage-inspired chronograph Chronoris.
Oris introduced its third limited edition, Oris Chronoris Movember Edition 2019, for the Movember Foundation, which raises awareness about men’s health.
Before sharing the details of Oris, one of my favorite watch brands, I think it would be better to talk about Movember Foundation. Founded in 2003, the Movember Foundation is an organization that works on men’s mental health protection, testicular/prostate cancer, and suicide prevention. In short, they work for men to live longer and healthier. Partners from fashion to the entertainment industry that support the organization receive financial aid throughout the year, and every November, the foundation’s supporters encourage men to grow mustaches to attract attention to the project.
Oris, one of the supporters of the Movember Foundation, has previously participated in the organization with the Movember Edition versions of its Divers 65 and Big Crown Pointer Date. This year, it supports the foundation with Chronoris, one of the simplest yet impressive sports watches of the 1970s.
The Oris Chronoris Movember Edition comes in a stainless steel case with a diameter of 39mm. A convex sapphire crystal with inner anti-reflective coating complements the front of the case. The stainless steel case back features the ‘Oris Movember Edition’. The vintage-inspired watch provides water-resistance up to 100 meters.
The black dial of the Oris Chronoris Movember Edition displays the time pink gold hands. The orange second hand is one of the elements that support the ‘sporty’ look of the watch. The text on the dial and the gold-tone used in the seconds counter can bring the vintage look to the fore by adding warmth to the dial. The indexes and hands have Super-LumiNova BG W9. The date display is at 3 o’clock.
The Sellita SW 200-1 based automatic Oris 733 with date function that provides 38 hours of power reserve when fully wound powers the Chronoris Movember Edition.
The Movember Edition is available in a leather strap with a mustache logo on both sides (CHF 1,900) and stainless steel bracelet (CHF 2,100). There is also a NATO strap inside the watch’s special box.
