Cartier introduced the new versions of Pasha de Cartier models as part of the Watches & Wonders 2020 platform. The models offered in stainless steel, yellow gold, and rose gold, as well as gem-set and skeleton versions are ready to mark this year.
Pasha, with its unique codes and extraordinary design, is one of the rare models that can manage to melt luxury watchmaking and fashion in a pot. For these new Pasha de Cartier models introduced within the scope of Watches & Wonders 2020, we would not be wrong to say that they have designs outside the box. So how do they achieve this?
Behind this strong stance lies the harmony of contrasts. Pasha models have a square watermark pattern around the dial that offers a harmonious look. The four large numbers on the dial support the contemporary and bold look. This is exactly why Pasha de Cartier has been among the cult models since its debut in 1985.
Besides being loyal to the original in terms of overall design, the new Pasha de Cartier models offer the chance to carry the contemporary style of 2020 to the wrist with blue spinel or sapphire on the winding crown cap, interchangeable straps, and many other customizable options.
Before we move on to the technical specifications of the models, let's itemize the design details:
It attracts attention with its interchangeable straps, sapphire crystal case backs, and customizable crown decorations. Key features of the design include the chained crown. In this new version, Cartier further refined the crown mechanism, adding a blue spinel or sapphire stone to the serrated cap that retains the crown. While this application emphasized the blue tone once more, it also positively affected both the ergonomics of the crown and the preciousness of the watch.
Pasha and Cartier are also promoting a new, customizable feature. Applied in the form of the user's initials, there is an engraving located just under the crown cap. This special processing becomes visible when the chained cap is open.
Noting that it is important to adapt to changing days, moods, and styles, the brand supports Pasha de Cartier models with easily interchangeable straps. Regardless of whether it is steel, gold, or leather, all versions have the 'QuickSwitch' system developed by Cartier.
The watches that come with sapphire crystal case backs reveal the manufacture automatic movement Caliber 1847 MC. The movement, which is highly resistant to magnetization thanks to the paramagnetic alloy, offers a 40-hour power reserve when fully wound.
We can group the new Pasha de Cartier models in three different lines. The stainless-steel case versions are available in two sizes, 41 and 35mm. In 41mm diameter models a stainless steel bracelet and a blue or a gray alligator strap options are available. Besides, 35mm models are available with a fuchsia strap as well.
All 35mm gold versions come in 18K pink gold while the 41mm version comes in an 18K yellow gold case. Some versions of the 35mm models are gem-set with 48 diamonds (1.15 carats). Diamond-set models are available with 18K pink gold bracelet and/or alligator straps in blue or purple. Non-diamond-set models come with blue or gray alligator straps. All 41mm models are also available with blue or gray alligator straps.
The third group is the jewelry watches. On the dial of one of the 18K white gold case models, there are 318 pieces (3.10 carats) emerald-cut diamonds. The case and bracelet adorn 610 diamonds (10.10 carats). Limited to just 100 pieces, this watch runs on the automatic movement, Caliber 530 MC, and has a 40-hour power reserve.
Also offered with 35mm, 18K white gold case, the other model has 487 diamonds (8.51 carat) only in the case and bracelet. This model works with the automatic movement, Caliber 1847 MC.
All skeletonized dials have a case diameter of 41mm. In addition to 18K white and pink gold, there are stainless-steel case options. The bezel, movement, and buckle of the white gold models adorn 179 diamonds (2.59 carats). The white and rose gold models with Tourbillon beat with the hand-wound movement, Caliber 9466 MC, and provide a 50-hour power reserve when fully wound.
The skeletonized 41mm steel case model ticks with the automatic movement, Caliber 9624 MC, and offers 48 hours of power reserve when fully wound. This version includes a gray alligator strap as well as a stainless steel bracelet option.
