The luxury Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin celebrates the 40th anniversary of the luxury watch retail group The Hour Glass with the Ulysse Nardin Freak X Carbonium Gold The Hour Glass limited to 30 pieces.
The Hour Glass and Ulysse Nardin have been collaborating for a long time. Singapore-based luxury watch retail group has been bringing the brand’s timepieces to its users for more than 20 years. In other words; The Hour Glass has been a brand partner with Ulysse Nardin since Rolf W. Schnyder led the brand and Freak was first launched in 2001. This being the case, the celebration of this long-term collaboration is made with the Freak X saluting the future.
Freak X, which meets the watch enthusiasts in SIHH 2019, comes with a 43mm diameter case that is 2mm smaller than today’s generations of Freak Vision and Freak Out. Carbonium is a very light and sustainable material used in the bodies and wings of aircraft. When the material consisting of 7μm diameter carbon fibers is cut, an organic pattern is created by the layers. Carbonium gold means that those layers meeting gold material. With a sapphire crystal display case back, the model is water resistant up to 50 meters.
Ulysse Nardin Freak X Carbonium Gold The Hour Glass model is based on Freak Vision. Thereafter, the watch has a movement that takes on innovations that Ulysse Nardin transferred from the Freak Vision, for example, a super-light, extra-wide balance wheel in silicium with nickel flyweights and stabilizing microblades.
A dark brown alligator strap that is decorated with champagne tone ‘point de bride’ style stitching complements the model, which looks quite striking with its champagne dial.
