Vacheron Constantin, one of the essential brands of the world of watches, launched the latest model produced to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The models produced within the Métiers d’Art collection, which includes the visual arts as well as the traditional watchmaking of the brand; congratulate the arrival of the period defined as "the year of the Rooster" according to Chinese calendar.
The new models are being prepared in two different versions, limited to 12 units per model. In the heart of all Hallmark of Geneva certified models, the brand’s design wonder Caliber Ref. The 2640 G4 is on duty.
The leaf pattern on the dial of the model is inspired by Chinese iconography dating back hundreds of years. The pattern, which is prepared with the sensitivity of miniature art, is created by processing directly on metal. Standing half-buried in the gold base and presenting a three-dimensional image, the pattern was provided with a feeling of depth consisting of several layers with the help of the embossments around it.
When the pattern is colored, the art of "Grand Feu" enamel processing, which is a special technique for Asian cultures, is utilized. Thanks to the enamel applied by hand in every part of the pattern with different layers, the details of the blue or bronze colored dials have become more realistic. The platinum or pink gold cock figures in the center of the quadrant are also fully crafted with e-workmanship.
This is the brand that once again demonstrated its success in designing and producing unique dials. At the back of the model was a Maltese Cross-shaped rotor made of 22K pink gold as a Vacheron Constantin classic detail. There are sapphire glass windows on the back covers of the pink gold and platinum case versions that deserve the Hallmark of Geneva certification in their finest details.
As a mechanism that gives life to the model, Caliber Ref. 2640 G4 is preferred which successfully represents the point where the brand stands in terms of watchmaking. The mechanism that hosts all the classicized styles of traditional Swiss watchmaking can be appreciated by the sapphire glass-display caseback.
