The 2021 version of the Watch Week series, organized by LVMH Group, introducing new models of watches from the group brands, continues full-throttle. Three new watches introduced by Zenith, which is a group brand, stand out among the most prominent models of the event.
Zenith A385 Revival
The current version of the El Primero chronograph caliber trilogy (A384, A385, and A386), introduced in 1969, is finally completed. The new A385 Revival model, presented to watch enthusiasts, once again reveals Zenith's success in Tonneau case models. Moreover, the brand, which succeeded in achieving this success with a case width of 37mm, does not compromise on sportiness, comfort, or the “vintage” vibe of the model. At the heart of the A385 Revival, equipped with a gradient brown dial, is the in-house developed automatic Caliber El Primero 400. The movement, which operates at a frequency of 5Hz (36.000vph) and offers a 50-hour power reserve, is surrounded by a stainless steel case. The case is equipped with sapphire crystals on both sides and is water-resistant to 50 meters. The A385 Revival is available with a light brown leather strap and a "ladder" style bracelet made of stainless steel. The model with strap (03.A384.400 / 385.C855) has 7.900 CHF, while the model with a steel bracelet (03.A384.400 / 385.M385) has a list price of 8.400 CHF.
Zenith Defy 21 Urban Jungle (49.9006.9004/90.R942)
Do you find El Primero's 5Hz (36.000vph) operating frequency insufficient? So, let me introduce you to the new generation El Primero 9004. Defy 21 Urban Jungle, prepared for watch lovers who are bored with the classic and turned their direction to the future, brings a new breath to Swiss watchmaking with its modern details and high technology. Equipped with a 44mm diameter khaki green ceramic case and a skeleton dial, the model features sapphire crystals on both sides. The case is water-resistant to 100 meters. The model, which has a very successful nighttime legibility thanks to the hands and indices covered with Super-LumiNova® SLN C3, includes the brand's cutting-edge technology in-house automatic movement Caliber El Primero 9004. While the balance spring responsible for the timekeeping part operates at 36,000 vibrations per hour, the balance allocated to the chronograph reaches an unbelievable value with 360,000 vibrations per hour. The power reserve indicator at 12 o'clock monitors the total power reserve of up to 50 hours. The second hand of the chronograph, located in the center of the dial, completes a full rotation in 1 second and allows the user to measure intermediate time with an accuracy of 1/100 second. The list price of the watch, offered with a black rubber strap with a khaki green Cordura effect and a folding strap made of titanium, is 14,400 CHF.
Zenith Pilot Type 20 Silver Chronograph (05.2430.4069/17.I011)
The latest version of the Type 20 chronograph family, one of Zenith's Pilot series models, is here with its eye-catching sterling silver case and riveted metal dial. I think that even dreaming about the 250 units limited model’s Grade 925 silver case forming a patina in time is enough to excite the watch enthusiasts. The case is equipped with a sapphire crystal on the front and is water-resistant to 100 meters, which is unexpectedly higher than a pilot's watch. The Bi-Compax chronograph layout is preferred on the dial, where the rivets on the brushed metal look like an aircraft fuselage. The power reserve of the model, which is crowned with the in-house automatic Caliber El Primero 4069 that can measure intermediate time with a precision of 1/100 second, is 50 hours. The list price for the Pilot Type 20 Silver Chronograph offered with a brown calfskin strap and steel buckle is 9,900 CHF.
