2022 IWC Aquatimer Automatic Collection

IWC updates its Aquatimer product line, its cult representative in the diver's watches segment, with a new movement.

Aquatimer is one of the main groups of the brand. However, IWC's focus on the Pilot and Portugieser model families over the past ten years caused Aquatimer to remain in the background. Bringing the classic diver's watch concept together with modern times with its rotating bezel placed under the crystal, the collection is again in the IWC catalogs with its new movement that draws attention with its 5-day power reserve.

The new model family, which uses the same design elements as the previous generation, is presented with three different references accompanied by blue and black dial colors, rubber straps in the same tones, and a stainless steel bracelet.

The new model comes with a 42mm diameter and 14.10mm high case. Convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating serves on the front of the stainless steel case, where matte and glossy surfaces are used together. On the underside of the crystal is the diver's bezel, which rotates with the help of a second crown. Equipped with a screw-in winding crown and case back, the sporty case is waterproof up to 300 meters.

Standing out with its simple yet functional design, the dial comes in two color options, black and blue. The deal, which promises sufficient legibility in almost any light thanks to its Super-LumiNOVA filled hands and indices, also hosts a date window at 3 o'clock.

The most important feature of the new model family is the movement. The IWC Aquatimer Automatic is powered by the Caliber 32111, a movement manufactured at Richemont Group's ValFleurier facilities and whose architecture is shared with Panerai and Baume & Mercier's Baumatic platform. Developed to replace ETA calibers of the same size, the movement stands out with its impressive 120-hour (or five-day) power reserve time.

Among the new models, those offered for sale with rubber straps have a price tag of EUR 6,300, and versions with stainless steel bracelets have a price tag of EUR 7,350.
