Bulgari brings back the Aluminum models, which have become iconic with their Italian design, to the wrists by blending them with contemporary materials.
Geneva Watch Days, the only non-canceled event of 2020, has already begun to bear fruit. Among the models introduced is the Bulgari Aluminum collection, an icon of an era. The collection consists of three models, namely, time-date and chronograph with black and cream dials. The watches, which are as sharp as they were in 1998, take their place among the brand's entry-level models.
Bulgari is one of the brands that thrills and connects us not only with its records of thinness but also with its design mastery from its Italian roots. The brand continues to grow day by day with its horology patronage, details inspired by the Roman Empire, Swiss mechanics, and Italian design.
Although Bulgari has produced women's jewelry watches since 1918, it was 1977 when it introduced the first men's watch on an industrial scale, the Bvlgari Bvlgari. The prominent feature of this watch, which has only a date complication besides showing the time, is that the brand name is written twice on the bezel, as is the case with the portrait coins issued by the Roman emperors. In 1988, the Roman jeweler introduced the sporty Diagono chronograph with an engraving of Bvlgari Bvlgari on the dial. The new Aluminum models also meet with the watch enthusiasts with design elements from both the Bvlgari Bvlgari bezel and the chronograph Diagono.
Another feature of Bvlgari Bvlgari Aluminum was that it was made of aluminum and rubber materials, which are not usually associated with luxury watches. Originally designed in three different sizes to appeal to both genders and offered with automatic or Quartz movement options, Aluminum is back with an automatic movement and increased water pressure resistance up to 100 meters.
Bulgari Aluminum (Ref. 103445 & Ref. 103382)
The new Bulgari Aluminum models, which show the time and date, are offered in two different dial colors, black and cream white. The numbers at 12 and 6 o'clock are large and the markers are long so that it does not look simple under the flashy bezel. Each hour marker has luminescence on the tip as well as the hands. The central second hand continues to maintain its red circular detail, and the date window is at 3 o'clock.
40mm aluminum cases are accompanied by titanium DLC on the case back and winding crown. The beveled bezel with double Bvlgari inscription is made of black rubber, which is also used on the central aluminum links and integrated strap with a buckle.
Bulgari Aluminum models are powered by ETA 2892-based automatic movement Caliber B77 that provides 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
Bulgari Aluminum Chronograph (Ref. 103383)
The Bulgari Aluminum Chronograph model also has similar features with other Aluminum models. However, the chronograph has only one color dial option. The date window is located between the chronograph sub-dials at 4 and 5 o'clock. The model is powered by the ETA 2894-based automatic movement Caliber B130 that provides 42 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
