Corum has added a new model to its Lab Collection, which pushes the limits of traditional luxury watchmaking with experimental models.

Corum, which became a permanent player in the league of luxury watchmakers with its nautical-themed models introduced especially in the 2000s, added a new model its Lab Collection, a special product group that includes modern and innovative design as well as superior engineering and alternative materials. Available in white and red color themes, the new models are limited to 99 units only per version.

The Heritage Corum Lab 01 comes in a Tonneau style case made of DLC coated lightweight titanium alloy. Thanks to its design that blends smooth lines and hard angular forms, the successfully represents the model’s extra ordinary and innovative character. The case promises a comfortable wrist wear with its 39.85mm x 55mm x 11.75mm dimensions. Equipped with scratch resistant sapphire crystals on both is sides, the case is water-proof up to 50 meters / 5 bars. The left side of the case features a rubber plate with an embossed “Limited Edition” text while the model’s winding crown rests a 6 o’clock – an unusual location for a winding crown.

The model’s dial features an original design that evokes both the skeleton and Open Works concepts. With the exception of the 60, 45 and 30 minute markers, the dial does not give any indication to the user regarding time display function. The perforated windows allow various components of the movements visible to the eye while providing a contemporary look. The vertical satin finish of the components as well as the dial background itself, once again highlights the modern and industrial design of the model.

The Heritage Corum Lab 01 ticks with the Caliber CO 410 which is “shaped-movement” i.e. exclusively tailored for the model it beats within. Designed and manufactured in collaboration with Le Cercle des Horlogers, one of the rising movement makers, the motorist of several independent watchmakers and a company working behind the scenes for several big names in the industry, 27 jewels self-winding and micro-rotor movement beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28.800voh) and offers a 50-hour power reserve when fully wound.

The model is offered with two strap options as black leather or black rubber which are decorated with Corum’s key shaped logo and secured with triple folding buckle made of titanium.
