Zenith Defy Skyline

Zenith Defy Skyline

The newest player in the Sport-Chic watch category comes from Zenith. Let's see how the new Defy Skyline will perform in the most popular segment of the watch world.

A stainless steel case, an integrated bracelet, a date, and a small seconds complication, a design that brings comfort and details crafted with the finest artisanship possible. This formula contains a magic combination that allows the production of the most successful players in the world of luxury watchmaking. Today, many brands have models that can be called legends in the aforementioned category. Zenith must have wanted to be among these legends, as it offers a very promising profile with the new Defy Skyline.

The first name thing that comes to mind when Zenith is mentioned should be El Primero. The caliber, which entered our lives in 1969, has managed to conquer the hearts of many watch lovers with its hi-beat frequency of 5Hz/36000vph. If you ask me, the most important factor underlying the success of El Primero is this operating frequency. So why not use this feature in a time-only caliber?

This is exactly what is done in Defy Skyline. The in-house automatic Caliber 3620 operates at 5Hz/36000vph and has a 60-hour power reserve. It also incorporates many of the current watch technologies such as the silicon balance spring and the dual winding system. The small seconds indicator at 9 o'clock moves in 1/10 increments. In an astonishing speed. The date window at 3 o'clock shows us that it is possible to add functionality without ruining the integrity of the dial.

We see the star symbol of Zenith on the dial. It would be more accurate to say a dial consisting of Zenith stars. Since the name of the brand means summit, what could be more natural than seeing stars around? With the Super-LumiNOVA applied to the hands and indices, the ease of night legibility of the dial is maximized. The water resistance value of the watch, which has sapphire crystals on the front and back surfaces, has been determined as 100 meters with the help of the screw-in winding crown. Currently, there are three different dial alternatives: black, blue, and silver. I am sure this number will increase in the future.

Zenith Defy Skyline comes in a stainless steel case measuring 41mm x 12mm. The vertical distance between the lugs is 46mm, so I can guarantee that you have a very comfortable watch. Although the twelve-sided design on the bezel is familiar to the eye from another watch, I cannot fail to mention the great harmony achieved with the general lines of the Defy Skyline.

The watches will be presented to users with stainless steel bracelets secured with double-sided folding clasps. On the other hand, black in the black dial version, blue in the blue dial version, and khaki green rubber strap in the silver dial version are also included in the box. Since the bracelets and straps are equipped with easy change systems, the user can change the strap/bracelet on their own without the need for any equipment.
